Trust in Me to Catch You

I see you biting back your tears
as pieces of your broken heart
are steadily seeping through
like tiny razors slitting skin
bleeding in streams
weaving through the pores
of your crimson beaten face
I hear you screaming in your mind
crying off years of hurt
and people who said they loved you
only let you crumble and be trod upon.
Time and again, breathless longing
and sighs of relinquishment.
I know you're slowly dying
because I see it in your eyes
as you lie through your teeth
parting your lips again to smile.
Holding back all your woes
you are a shell,
hallowed out, refilled with falsehoods.
I don't know how to fix you
or calm your flurried eyes
when the pain you feel, bottled,
is not something we've yet shared.
Will we work through your hurt?
Can you trust your soul to me?
I can promise there will be no lies,
I won't dare to caress the body of another,
or scurry shamefully behind your back.
I, as do you, want a love that will last.
To wipe your face,
and heal your wounds,
build you again from your heart, and out,
You can learn its okay,
for you to love again.
You will be safe in my arms my love,
I'll not let you fall.
